About Copper Hills Golf Club

The tale about Copper Hills Golf Club starts with an artist’s vision. Curtis Wright was a community developer and the Copper Hills visionary.

Our Dream

The 27 hole course was created by the mind of a designer. With acquired skills in his years of creative work with Ford and the brawn of an excavation worker from his 30 years in earth moving, He had an architect’s skill in building beautiful things.

His love of golf and extensive travels allowed him to play many of the world’s finest courses and bring only the best to Club.

Curtis passed away in late 2016 after a long battle with cancer but his family is continuing to keep his dream alive.

Our Name

Curtis’ wife, Donna named the golf course during a fall walk with her husband. They were at the highest point of their land when she noticed the copper hue of the forest they were in and the name Copper Hills was born. Donna Wright also worked with Curtis in the development of Copper Hills as one of the first geothermal communities.

In 1997, Curtis’ labor of love became a reality, the Hill and Marsh nines opened. Later that year the Jungle nine was revealed to complete the Copper Hills 27 hole course.
